It is my belief that the will to become a teacher is not something that is taught or learned. It is a feeling that comes from within. With the support of my two boys and wonderful husband, I decided to pursue my degree in elementary education. I began my journey in 2008 with the University of Phoenix, while working as a teacher assistant in an elementary school. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in May 2012. I immediately received a position at a charter school teaching a 2nd and 3rd grade combination class. Then, in July 2012 I felt the need to pursue my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Emphasis from Grand Canyon University. I feel a teacher can never have too much knowledge.
I am very excited to continue my teaching career with Open Doors Community School. There is such a warmth of welcoming smiles when you enter the door. The positive atmosphere can never be ignored. I feel privileged to be a part of this new beginning.
