Raye Gail Wallace
Hello! My name is Raye Gail Wallace and I am the 5th grade teacher at Open Doors Community School. I am from a small West Texas town called Sweetwater. We are known for the World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Angelo State University. I had lived in Sweetwater all my life until July 15 of this year. I came out to Arizona to teach and be close to my sister and her family. In Texas I have a wonderful son and daughter-in-law. They are getting their degrees at Howard Payne University. My son is getting his Masters in Religious Studies. I have been teaching for 10 years. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. One of the wonderful things about teaching is that I love it when I see a child finally understand a concept that they have been working on. It is like a light bulb goes off and they get it. That brings such joy to my teaching. I am enjoying living in Arizona and look forward to getting to know the wonderful staff, students, and parents at Open Doors Community School.
